We had a vision to build a park
And needed a leader to provide the spark.
Many were ready to follow the lead
To build a shed or sow a seed.
Others would give without restraint
To clear the brush or slap on paint.
But we needed that leader to show the way
To take us where we are today.
We found that leader, John Hassler’s his name
He led us through without acclaim,
And made sure we completed our scheme
