When your heart is thumpin’ and you’re breathin’ hard
And you wonder if there’s an end to the climb
You reach a point where the view’s so grand
You forget what you just left behind.
For the hikin’s tough and your bones are old
And your body can’t do what it could
But you hit the trail to get that view
With some aches and pains understood.
The world is full of beautiful scenes
That you’ve tramped the world over to find
You’ll keep on trampin’ till judgment day
And glory in what God’s designed.
THE GLORY OF THE TRAIL
