Will you still like it when the trees are gone
And your views are of barren ground?
Will you sit and cry and shake your head
Or never utter a sound?
We like to feel the site we’re on
Is a place we can call home
A place we can be comfortable
When we no longer wish to roam.
For the park we’re in is a beauty spot
Surely all of us agree
It was thus before we arrived on the scene
And changed it to what we now see.
Instead of letting Nature have her hand
With a design far better than ours
We’ve tried to make a design of our own
To match our ivory towers.
We’ve dug up rocks and tons of dirt
To make our site look grand
With never a thought of the joys we’d have
If we left things the way they stand.
Let’s start to preserve this park we’re in
And the beauty that still abounds
So we can look back in future years
And be happy with our surrounds
THE CHOICE IS OURS
