To the lake that lies below
A mountain of sheer majesty
With massive fields of snow.
We sit entranced at our campsite
By the vistas that each day appear
And can’t imagine the distance involved
As our mountain seems so near.
It’s a place to return to often
All nature lovers should
To view that splendid mountain
Magnificent Mount Hood.
