A tree is merely a token of what we need to do
To help restore our Mother Earth, a project long overdue.
We repair the homes we live in and the vehicles we drive
But little thought is given to keeping the earth alive.
We’ve sullied her and gullied her and polluted her precious air
And shown in any number of ways that we haven’t tried to care.
There’s still time if we work at it to correct our errant past
To once again have a healthy earth that will last and last and last.
