A WINTER DAY
By: Frederick Laird
Oh, what a day to spend out in the open;
Oh, how gorgeous the clear winter sky.
When we can gaze at the snow laden branches
How can we let such a day pass us by?

Out on the hillside to watch all the skiers,
Down to the lake where the skaters all fly.
Look to the hilltop to view nature’s wonder;
Breath-taking vistas catch everyone’s eye.

All of this beauty from yesterday’s snowstorm,
Causing the mountain-bound traffic to die.
Bringing a smile to the young of all ages,
Snow play and snow scenes, a natural high.
