I wish that we had met when we were young
For then your beauty must have been so grand
Love ballads from my heart I would have sung
In efforts to be first to have your hand.
Though youth had passed us by when we first met
Your radiance soon captured my poor heart.
There hasn’t been one moment of regret
And we are one till this dear life we part.

As we grow older there will always be
A place within my heart that sees no change
Your loveliness will be the same to me
Though nature does its best to rearrange.
No signs of age can ever jeopardize
The way you look to this old lover’s eyes.
A LOVE SONNET
